  2. I went to a seminar earlier this year at my college about shame and it talked about how we deny ourselves of feeling. I think that we just kind of brush off our feelings because we want to seem "normal" (as link #4 states). We think that by not seeming emotional, we some how fit in, but really all we are ever doing is hurting ourselves. It's better to be open about your anger and sadness and be able to confront it and work on making yourself a better person.
