#GIRLBOSS book review
I'm so excited to finally talk with you about '#GIRLBOSS', an absolute must-have book for every woman who wants to have a power over her own life and do awesome things! I know I'm quite late to the party, but I still wanna share with my thoughts on the book, some inspirational quotes and overall, talk with you about what it means to be a 'girlboss'.

If you still haven't picked up the book, I totally recommend to go and do that because it's gonna be one of the best gifts for yourself, trust me! The whole time I was reading #GIRLBOSS, I couldn't stop having that itch to go and do things. It's a highly motivational read that would inspire you to finally take control over your life and be your own 'girlboss'.

Who's a girl boss?

“A #GIRLBOSS is someone who's in charge of her own life. She gets what she wants because she works for it. As a #GIRLBOSS, you take control and accept responsibility. You're a fighter- you know when to throw punches and when to roll with them. Sometimes you break the rules, sometimes you follow them, but always on your terms. You know where you're going, but can't do it without having some fun along the way. You value honesty over perfection. You ask questions. You take your life seriously, but you don't take yourself too seriously. You're going to take over the world, and change it in the process. You're a badass.” - Sophia Amoruso, #GIRLBOSS

Since reading the book and watching a couple interviews (more like every single one) with Sophia Amoruso, I became a huge fan! Her story is truly unique and I feel like she has a lot to share with the world. She also has a podcast which I listen to regularly and absolutely love! I've talked about it in my top 5 favorite podcasts

On hard work:

First thing that you should take out of this book is that nothing just happens to you; you gotta actually go and do things, work hard and then work even more. You gotta ask for what you want and seek out every great opportunity. There are a lot of them, the question is whether you have what it takes to get it to use. Being a girlboss is hard and putting hours of your time into something and not always being rewarded for that is also hard, but you always should see the bigger picture and realize that big things don't happen overnight; they take time, a lot of time. If you study closely any successful person, whether it's an actor or a businessman, you'll quickly learn that what might have appeared to you as an immediate success,

"It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back & let things happen to them. They went out & happened to things" - Leonardo da Vinci

"A #GIRLBOSS is in charge of her life. She gets what she wants because she works for it."

On being a woman:

Don't ever think that being a woman makes you less capable of owning a business or having a high position at a company! Always act like you own it and have respect for yourself

"Women make natural anarchists and revolutionaries" Kim Gordon

"If you ask Sheryl Sandberg, she would say yes. What can change is how a woman commands respect, and how a woman shows up and doesn't see herself as "the woman in the room" and behaves that way, just as another contributor at the table."

“You don’t get taken seriously by asking someone to take you seriously. You’ve got to show up and own it. If this is a man’s world, who cares? I’m still really glad to be a girl in it.”

On failure:

Don't be afraid of failure, because you will fail. Yep, that's right, you'll have a shit load of obstacles on your way because, guess what, that's life! But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try! If anything, it means that there's a high possibility that every 10 failures will bring you 1 success (and that's a pretty good ratio!). Failures hurt, rejections hurt, but what hurts even more is wasting your one life on doing something you're not proud of. So, get it together and go fight for what you want!

"The more you experiment, take risks and make mistakes, the better you'll know yourself, the better you'll know the world and the more focused you'll be"

On savings:

Sophia's quote on saving money is genius and I seriously need to put it somewhere where I can see it all the time. It's really stuck to me and I definitely wanna share the quote with you.

“The average American only saves 6.5 percent of his or her income, which is barely keeping up with inflation. But you, dear #GIRLBOSS, should save 10 percent at the bare minimum. I know it’s a lot easier to talk about saving money than it is to actually save it. Here’s a tip: Treat your savings account like just another bill. It has to be paid every month, or there are consequences… If you’re tempted to buy something, just imagine that those new shoes were actually made out of crisp $ 20 bills. Do those $ 20 bills look good getting dirty on the sidewalk? No, they do not. That’s because money looks better in the bank than on your feet.”

Thanks for reading!
