My Process Of Choosing An Outfit

Dressing up has always been one of my favorite things to do and I could spend hours in the day, playing with clothes and picking outfits. And while I love doing all that, most of the time I don't have that amount of time in the morning. As you may know, I always try to put effort into my outfits, no matter how much time I have on my hands or where I'm going. It doesn't mean I'm always wearing heels and fancy dresses, but let's say a pair of jeans and a tee can look real good, when styled the right way. Today I wanna share a few steps that I follow when picking a look for the day.

1. Gather inspiration. I'm a huge fan of sites like Pinterest and Tumblr, and I also have a folder on my laptop with all the outfits I like. I'd either pin an image of the look on my fashion board or save it in my folder, and when I'm in need of some inspo, I can quickly browse through them and think about something to wear from my closet.

2. Start with one piece. One of the things I like to do is picking one piece that I'm particularly lovin that day and going from there. Let's say I really like the dress I just got and I'm certain I wanna wear it today. I'll now search for the items that would go well with it, instead of going all over the place and switching between pants, tops, dresses, shorts, etc. Sometimes my main piece would be something as simple as a scarf, and I would gradually build up the rest of my outfit from there. You just gotta start somewhere!

3. Consider where you're going. That's a good one, because you don't wanna wear a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and a metal band tee to your interview (unless you're planning on working in a really unconventional place, then it's all cool!). So, you know, just dress according to an occasion. It's that simple!

4. Check the weather. As much as I'd love to wear a leather jacket right now (or just a shirt, for that matter), I know this is just not happening any time soon... I'm not giving up tho and continuing on working with what I have. I did a post on how to stay warm and stylish when it's cold, and that's something I'm struggling with every single day at the moment.

5. If all fails, go with neutrals. In case I'm really not feeling any outfit that day, I'd just go with neutral colors and something I know looks good on me. It's important to have those pieces that always make you feel awesome and you know you can reach for them anytime you need to. I'm also known for wearing all black, because in my opinion this color is just timeless and it goes perfectly with everything. Btw, this article about girls who only wear black is kinda hilarious!

6. Finishing touches. When you're done with the outfit for the day, it's time to add those accessories that would take your game to the next level. I've been really into hats lately and I feel that they just go with so many things and can totally transform any look. And, of course, bags and shoes will take you places! Those are 2 things to invest in and take a good care of. Once again, I have a few items that I know would go with prctically everything and I heavily rely on them. I've recently switched to a mini bag (I used to carry around on of those enormous bags) and now it's my go-to for everyday wear.

What's you process of picking an outfit in the morning? Any other tips?
