Birthday Girl + My Biggest Life Changes

Sooo... it's my birthday today! I woke up super early (excitement?) to find a gorgeous bouquet of dahlias and a box of macarons. I mean, what else can a girl dream of!? So far I'm feeling extremely happy, let's hope the vibe will continue through the whole day!

I thought my birthday would be the perfect time to share with you some things that I switched up this year, how it affected me and made a better version of myself.

Choosing to eat healthy
It's been 2 years, since I've made a huge change in my diet and started making much better choices with what I put in my body. It's been a long learning process and I can say that this was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. My overall health is so much better, I got fitter, I have lots of energy and I started to wake up at 6am without any alarm clock (never thought I'd be that person!). I also think that it's important to find a balance and making a gradual change. If you've been eating crap for years and binging on sweets all the time, cutting off everything in one day will definitely make you feel bitter, so try learning what swaps you can make and find healthy meals that you truly enjoy eating.

Working out
Speaking of health, another huge change in my life has been me my reagular workouts. I started doing that just to kinda get fit, but it became so much more than that for me! There are obviously plenty health benefits, lots of energy, massive strength, but one of the biggest things for me is how working out affects me mentally. It's seriously the best therapy there is! This one hour of working out is my me-time when I can let go of all the problems, release that stress I might have after a long day and get in tune with my body. And I just never regret a workout, there's just no such thing, you always feel good about yourself afterwards! So far, my absolute favorite activity is boxing, it's the best!

Learning to chill
I'm the type of person who always needs to be busy and do something. If I'm bored or stuck somewhere, wasting my time, it literally kills me! While I think it's great that I like to be occupied, there's also a downside to that, where I'm rubbish at sitting still and just chilling. I kid you not, my hands are literally twitching for my phone or something else to do and I begin to think in my head of all the things I need to be doing. What's been really helpful for me is reading before going to bed. I try really hard to have 30 min to 1 hour every day just to sit in my bed and read without any distractions. It's still a hard thing for me to do during the day, but I now can easily switch off one hour before going to sleep.

So, those are my 3 big changes I've made so far. I'd love to know if you have accumulated any good habits, maybe, there's something else I should do!
