How to Start Your Week Right

Fashion Blogger | Eye Tattoo | Alina Ermilova
If you've been following me for a while, you already know that I'm 100% a morning person and my morning routine is what helps me to start the day in the most productive way and keeps me energized throughout the whole day. I'd say that it varies, depending on what my schedule is that day, but mostly the first couple of hours are always the same.

Let's talk specifically about Mondays. I've grown to love them! Yep, that's right! They just feel to me like a completely fresh start and I like to have something to look forward to in my week. Here are some things that I do on Monday mornings to start my week right:

1. Wake up earlier to prepare for the day.

I know that this one is not for everyone, and if you're sleep deprived, you probably hate me right now. But if you sleep enough hours, try to wake up a bit earlier to prepare for the day, first of all, mentally. Turn on some soothing music, prepare a nice breakfast and just sit at the table for 15 minutes without rushing anywhere.

2. Plan for the week ahead.

One of my favorite things to do on Monday morning is planning my week ahead. I like to take out my calendar (will do a post on that later!) and schedule any events, important tasks and meeting for that week. Basically, that's just a mini version of a to-do list, where I put the most important things. It can be days of exams, meeting, events, dates for trips, etc. This way I can visually see my whole week in front of me, quite literally. If you follow me on Snapchat, you might have seen my new color-coordinated calendar system.

3. To-do list.

Once I'm done with that, I'm getting to my daily to-do list. Basically, I just write down all my tasks for the day, including things like doing my nails, vacuum the floors, shoot a message, etc. Yes, I make sure to include even the smallest tasks, because this way I don't have to hold all of that in my head and can actually fully concentrate on the more important tasks. Btw, a good tip is to write down 3 most important tasks that 100% have to be done today, so if you end up doing just them it would be fine. A lot of the time we start with smaller, more insignificant stuff and end accomplishing nothing at the end of the day.

4. Listen to podcasts.

If you have a spare 30 minutes or more on your morning commute or at home, listen to an episode of a podcast! I'm a huge fan of them and made 2 posts (1,2) with my absolute faves. I get so much inspiration listening to podcasts in the morning, that I immediately wanna go out and make stuff happen after I finish an episode. I like to tune into them while I'm getting ready, walking outside, on my morning commute, cooking, doing chores, etc.

5. Suck in that inspiration!

Speaking of inspiration, I love to go through the folder on the laptop with my favorite motivational quotes or my pinterest board to get some major inspiration for the day. Youtube videos also work really well! Oh, and if you have an opportunity to meet with a friend for a brainstorm session in the morning, that's the best thing in the world! Trust me, you'd be itching to go out and take over the world!

So, that's pretty much it! Please, do share any tips on how to start the week (ora ny other day) in the best way possible! And I'd love to know your routines, if you have any ;)

Any thoughts on the outfit are also appreciated! P.S. Spot my tattoo, I still can't get over it, which I guess is a good thing ahah!
